St Joseph’s School has a long serving history with educating the community since 1893. Catholic Education in Rochester has been a joint undertaking of the Bishops, Augustinian Fathers, Brigidine Sisters and parishioners.
During this time there have been many faces of St. Joseph’s Primary School and is now under the governance of Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd. St Brigid’s lamp of learning, or welcoming love and compassion will always burn brightly. Faith and fidelity, courage and compassion have prevailed in the past and these established traditions are being continued now.
Guided by our motto, “People of Strength, People of Gentleness”, we are committed to love one another in a supportive Catholic community where a sense of inclusiveness is fundamental. The school has a unique sense of community where parents, staff and students’ value and respect each other and where everyone who enters the school feels welcomed.
